Mission Statement
GCYHA MISSION STATEMENT
Building better players. Building better people. Building community through hockey.
The Greenwich Cardinals Youth Hockey Association (GCYHA) is a community-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to developing young athletes and strong character through the game of hockey. We believe youth hockey should inspire confidence, teach life lessons, and create a lifelong love of the sport.
Hockey is more than a game. It teaches teamwork, accountability, resilience, and respect — lessons that extend far beyond the rink. Through age-appropriate instruction, skilled coaching, and positive competition, we strive to help every player grow at their own pace while learning the values that matter most on and off the ice.
As a nonprofit led by volunteer families, our focus is simple: serve kids first. We are committed to keeping hockey accessible and inclusive, offering a high-quality, development-focused program that welcomes players from Greenwich and surrounding communities and emphasizes participation, improvement, and enjoyment over outcomes alone.
GCYHA exists to strengthen our community. We aim to provide a program families can trust — one that reflects shared values, supports healthy development, and creates meaningful experiences, lasting friendships, and pride in wearing the Cardinals jersey.
By investing in our players today, GCYHA is helping ensure a strong, sustainable future for our community and for youth and high school hockey in Greenwich for generations to come.
Please donate to GCYHA and help us fulfill our mission.
